In empowering Indonesian Youth, Anomali would refrain from the act of patronizing and superiority. Everyone is equal in Anomali. Our aim is to create an environment which may accommodate as many positive aspirations as possible from the young people. We never discriminate ideas and we never rest our efforts in facilitating them as much as we can.

The issues that we have chosen to be adopted in our programs are all issues that can affect positive change in the society. Anomali would like Indonesian youth to be the agent of change, and our programs are the vessel for them to be a part of a better societal transformation.

This program was a pioneering program in Anomali, with the purpose of combining the spirit of empowerment and debate, and still in line with Anomali’s vision to empower youth through education and training. This program encourages students from high schools and varsities to form their own debate/English speaking clubs in their school as a distinguished club. Anomali only provides assistances in forms of coaches and modules, but the one that sustains the club itself are the students. In the process, students will learn about organization and leadership which are the key elements for a successful career in the future.

Anomali realizes that there are significant and obvious changes in our environment. However, the policies taken to overcome the problem are insufficient, ineffective and most of the time not understood. The awareness of the people is also at an all time low, as proven from the increasing garbage rate, air pollution and decreasing green lines. We made a conclusion that actions have to be taken as soon as possible and as practical as possible. Since most of our headquarters reside in urban cities, then we decided to tackle environmental problem that troubles urban population, since we think that it is useless to tackle environmental problem miles away if we cannot settle the problem in our own backyard.

Indonesia is the largest archipelago nation in the world with the most diverse indigenous cultures and religions. Promoting understanding to bridge the differences is fundamental in creating a sustainable peaceful relationship amidst the multi-facetted citizens.

Anomali believes that a local level action is necessary to achieve this goal. Our strategy is to promote understanding between inter-religious young people by keeping an open communication channel through discussions and dialogue. We aim to generate an open-minded and pro-active generation with the ability to accept and understand religious differences.
